Dental insurance, decoded.

Dental insurance isn't like medical insurance: it's closer to a coupon book with an annual cap. Get four ideas down (premiums, maximums, coverage categories, and networks) and the mystery turns into arithmetic you can actually use.

Four ideas that do the heavy lifting.

Your premium buys access to benefits. The annual maximum, commonly one to two thousand dollars, is the most your plan pays per year, and unused amounts usually vanish at year end (use it or lose it). Coverage runs in categories, often near 100 percent for preventive care, 80 percent for basic work like fillings, and 50 percent for major work like crowns, after any deductible. Networks decide the rate math: in-network dentists accept contracted fees, while out-of-network care is reimbursed at your plan's allowed rates.

Out-of-network, no fine print.

Clarity Dental isn't in-network with any plan, and most PPO plans still pay real benefits toward care here. We file the claims as a courtesy and help you estimate your share before treatment. What you gain: care decisions made clinically, not by contract. What it asks of you: a little arithmetic, which we do together, in writing. The practice-specific details live on the insurance page.

The usual questions.

What does a PPO plan mean for me here?
PPO plans include out-of-network benefits, so they pay a share of care at Clarity Dental. Bring your card, and we'll help you understand the likely numbers before anything gets scheduled.
Why did my plan not cover the whole crown?
Major work is typically covered around half, after deductibles and subject to your annual maximum. Your written estimate shows the expected split before you commit.
Do benefits roll over?
Usually not. Unused annual maximums typically expire at year end, which is why December is a smart month to finish planned treatment.
What is a waiting period?
Some plans delay coverage for major work for months after you enroll. Your plan documents spell it out, and we'll help you read them if it's unclear.
