Call first. We'll help you sort it out.

Dental emergencies rarely wait for a convenient moment. A cracked tooth at lunch, a throbbing ache at midnight, a crown that pops off before an interview: the first move is the same. Call. The team will help you judge how urgent it is, walk you through what to do right now, and find the soonest workable time, with same-day visits possible when the schedule allows.

A few situations belong in the emergency room first: swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, or injuries from a serious accident. For everything else in and around your teeth, we're the right call, and treatment starts with relieving the pain, whether the fix is a filling, a crown, or a root canal.

What to expect

You called. Here's what's next.

Tell us what's going on

Describe the pain or damage. We'll help you figure out how urgent it is and what to do for comfort in the meantime.

Get seen

We prioritize true emergencies and offer same-day visits when possible. If the office is closed, leave a message and we'll get back to you when it reopens.

Fix the cause

The visit focuses on stopping the pain and stabilizing the tooth. Then we plan any follow-up care with written costs (and zero pressure).

Costs before care.

Emergency visits are priced by what the situation needs: an exam and X-ray to diagnose, plus whatever treatment stabilizes the problem. You approve costs before treatment, even on a rough day.

Many PPO plans cover emergency exams at out-of-network rates, and we file claims as a courtesy. If cost is why you've been waiting, tell us; options exist, and waiting usually makes dental problems more expensive, not less.

Benefits, honestly

Dental insurance coverage.

Clarity Dental is not in-network with any insurance plan, and you can still be seen here. Most PPO plans pay out-of-network benefits toward care, and we file those claims as a courtesy so you do not have to.

  • Written estimates before treatment is scheduled
  • Out-of-network claims filed as a courtesy
  • CareCredit financing available
  • Cash, check, all major cards, HSA and FSA

Check your benefits

Bring your plan information to any visit, or call ahead, and the team will explain what your plan is likely to cover before treatment is scheduled.

How insurance works here

Ask a question

Emergency? Start here.

What counts as a dental emergency?
Severe or worsening pain, swelling, a knocked-out or broken tooth, bleeding that won't stop, and infection signs like a bump on the gum or a bad taste. Not sure? Call and describe it; we'll tell you honestly.
My tooth got knocked out. What do I do?
Hold it by the crown, not the root. If you can, gently place it back in the socket; otherwise keep it in milk and call right away. Minutes really matter for saving a knocked-out permanent tooth.
What if it happens after hours?
Call and leave a message so we can respond when the office reopens. For swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, or serious trauma, go to the emergency room first; those can't wait.
Can you really see me the same day?
Sometimes, yes. Call as early in the day as you can and we'll do everything we honestly can. Even when same-day isn't possible, we'll tell you how to stay comfortable until your visit.
What should I do while I wait to be seen?
For a knocked-out tooth: handle it by the crown, keep it in milk, and call immediately. For pain: over-the-counter relievers as directed and a cold compress outside the cheek.
