Crowns, made while you wait.

The old-school crown process means two visits, a gooey impression, and a temporary crown while a lab does the work. CEREC changes that. Dr. Little scans your tooth digitally, designs the crown on screen, and mills it from a solid ceramic block while you wait. The crown is shaded to blend with your smile and bonded the same day.

Some situations still call for a lab-made crown, and if yours does, she'll explain why and what the timeline looks like. Either way, the goal is the same: a strong, natural-looking tooth you can chew on with confidence, and a process you fully understood before it started. Dr. Little's training includes advanced CEREC restoration coursework, and same-visit restorations are a core focus of the practice.

What to expect

Your crown, start to finish.

Prep and scan

We numb and shape the tooth, then scan it with the CEREC camera. No trays, no gagging, no goo.

Design and mill

Your crown is designed on screen and milled from ceramic right here in the office, usually within the same appointment.

Bond and bite-check

We try the crown in, tweak it until your bite feels right, and bond it for good. You leave with the finished tooth.

Crown costs, upfront.

Crown costs vary with the tooth and the situation, and you'll see the exact number in writing before treatment starts. A crown placed at the right time often heads off the bigger cost of a root canal or extraction later.

Most PPO plans share crown costs at their out-of-network rate, and we file claims as a courtesy. CareCredit financing can spread payments when that helps.

Benefits, honestly

Dental insurance coverage.

Clarity Dental is not in-network with any insurance plan, and you can still be seen here. Most PPO plans pay out-of-network benefits toward care, and we file those claims as a courtesy so you do not have to.

  • Written estimates before treatment is scheduled
  • Out-of-network claims filed as a courtesy
  • CareCredit financing available
  • Cash, check, all major cards, HSA and FSA

Check your benefits

Bring your plan information to any visit, or call ahead, and the team will explain what your plan is likely to cover before treatment is scheduled.

How insurance works here

Ask a question

Crown curiosities.

How long does a same-visit crown take?
Plan on one longer appointment instead of two shorter ones. Most patients happily make that trade to skip the temporary crown and the second trip.
Are CEREC ceramic crowns strong?
Yes. Modern milled ceramics are durable, natural-looking, and well proven for everyday chewing. A nightguard adds cheap insurance if you grind.
When is a crown needed instead of a filling?
When decay or a crack has taken too much tooth for a filling to hold onto. Covering the whole tooth spreads out chewing force and keeps cracks from growing.
How long do crowns last?
Often ten years or more with good home care and regular checkups. How you use your teeth matters, too: ice-chewers and night-grinders shorten the timeline.
Can I get a crown in one day in McDonough?
Often, yes. Clarity Dental makes many ceramic crowns in one visit with CEREC. Some situations still call for a lab-made crown, and Dr. Little explains why before you start.
Does insurance help with a CEREC crown?
Most PPO plans share crown costs at their out-of-network rate. Clarity Dental files the claim as a courtesy and gives you a written estimate first.
