Woman with a bright smile relaxing at home

Brighter teeth, real expectations.

Here's the science bit: whitening breaks down stain molecules within the enamel. Professional-strength treatment is stronger and better controlled than over-the-counter products, which is why results come faster and more evenly. At your visit, we'll talk through the options available, what shade change is realistic for you, and how to handle sensitivity if you're prone to it.

Quick reality check: whitening brightens natural enamel, but it doesn't change the color of crowns, veneers, or fillings, and some deep internal stains respond slowly or not at all. When whitening isn't the right tool, Dr. Little will tell you so and show you what would work instead, like bonding or veneers.

Let's talk price.

Good news: whitening is one of the most affordable cosmetic treatments, and you'll know the exact cost before you commit. Skip any deal that skips the exam, though. Whitening over an unseen cavity is a bad bargain.

Insurance plans generally treat whitening as cosmetic and don't cover it. Payment options are simple, and HSA rules vary, so just ask if you're unsure.

Benefits, honestly

Dental insurance coverage.

Clarity Dental is not in-network with any insurance plan, and you can still be seen here. Most PPO plans pay out-of-network benefits toward care, and we file those claims as a courtesy so you do not have to.

  • Written estimates before treatment is scheduled
  • Out-of-network claims filed as a courtesy
  • CareCredit financing available
  • Cash, check, all major cards, HSA and FSA

Check your benefits

Bring your plan information to any visit, or call ahead, and the team will explain what your plan is likely to cover before treatment is scheduled.

How insurance works here

Ask a question

Whitening, explained.

How white will my teeth get?
It depends on your starting shade and the kind of staining you have. Surface stains from coffee and tea respond well; deep internal discoloration is slower. You'll get a realistic prediction at your exam, not a promise.
Does whitening damage enamel?
Used correctly with professional guidance, no. Sensitivity can flare up for a bit, and we manage it with technique and timing instead of leaving you to tough it out.
How long do results last?
Anywhere from months to a couple of years, depending on your habits. Coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco re-stain fastest. Periodic touch-ups keep the shade right where you want it.
Why not just buy whitening strips?
Strips can help mild surface stains, but coverage is uneven and strength is limited. Professional whitening is faster, more even, and supervised, which really matters if you have sensitive teeth or dental work.
