A closer look

Digital dental X-rays.

What's hiding between your teeth? Digital X-rays let Dr. Little see what a visual exam cannot: decay between teeth, infection at the root, and bone changes below the gumline. They use less radiation than traditional film and pop up on screen instantly, where she walks you through them.

See what the mirror misses.

Many dental problems start where no mirror can reach. X-rays catch cavities forming between teeth, trouble under an old filling or crown, and infection around a root long before you'd feel it. Finding those early usually means simpler, less expensive treatment.

We take images only when they're useful, based on your history and risk, not a fixed schedule. And since they're digital, we can enlarge them on screen during your exam, so you see the explanation for yourself instead of taking it on faith.

Here's the drill

Snap it, see it, talk it.

A few quick snaps

A small sensor takes the images in minutes. Most patients find digital sensors comfier than old-school film.

Right on screen

The images show up on screen right away. No waiting for film to develop, and no second trip to hear the results.

Your guided tour

Dr. Little points out exactly what she sees, healthy or not, and answers your questions before any treatment comes up.

Usually in the checkup.

X-rays are usually part of an exam visit, not a separate appointment, and most dental plans treat routine imaging as a preventive benefit. You'll get the cost in writing before anything is done.

We're out-of-network with every plan, but we file out-of-network claims as a courtesy. See how insurance works here or check out payment options.

Benefits, honestly

Dental insurance coverage.

Clarity Dental is not in-network with any insurance plan, and you can still be seen here. Most PPO plans pay out-of-network benefits toward care, and we file those claims as a courtesy so you do not have to.

Bring your plan information to any visit, or call ahead, and the team will explain what your plan is likely to cover before treatment is scheduled.

How insurance works here

Ask a question

X-ray questions.

Are dental X-rays safe?
Digital X-rays use a low dose of radiation, less than traditional film. And we only take images when they're likely to change what we know or what we recommend.
How often will I need X-rays?
It depends on your risk and history. Someone with healthy teeth and no recent problems needs them less often than someone with active decay or gum disease. Dr. Little will tell you what she recommends and why.
Can I see my own X-rays?
Yes, and we hope you will. Looking at your images together on screen is a standard part of the visit here, so you'll see what's healthy and what needs attention.
Do X-rays hurt?
Not at all. The sensor sits in your mouth briefly while each image is taken. If gagging or discomfort has been a problem before, just tell us and we'll adjust the approach.
