Stronger enamel

Fluoride treatments.

Fluoride isn't just a kid thing. It strengthens enamel and helps early decay repair itself before it becomes a cavity, and a professional treatment takes just a few minutes at the end of a cleaning. At Clarity Dental, we recommend it when your risk says it'll help, not by default.

  • Written estimates before treatment
  • Out-of-network benefits filed as a courtesy
  • CareCredit, HSA and FSA accepted
  • Unhurried visits, plain-language answers

Two minutes, real protection.

Enamel is under constant attack from acid made by bacteria, and fluoride helps it remineralize (that's the natural repair process that keeps early softening from turning into a hole). Professional fluoride is much stronger than what toothpaste gives you, which is why a quick in-office application can matter.

Kids benefit while their enamel matures, and adults benefit when risk is higher: frequent cavities, dry mouth from medications, gum recession that exposes root surfaces, or braces and aligners that make cleaning harder. Dr. Little will tell you honestly whether it's worth adding to your checkup.

Easy does it

Paint on, move on.

A quick, easy coat

After your cleaning, we paint a fluoride varnish onto your teeth. It takes a couple of minutes and has a mild, pleasant taste.

Back to your day

You can eat and drink with only brief limits (we'll explain them at the visit). No numbness, no downtime.

Again, if it helps

Depending on your risk, fluoride may be worth it at every checkup or only now and then. Your situation calls the shots.

Small add-on, upfront.

Fluoride is one of the least expensive treatments in dentistry, priced as a small add-on to a cleaning visit. Like everything here, you'll know the cost before we go ahead.

Many plans cover fluoride for kids, and some cover it for adults with documented risk. We file out-of-network claims as a courtesy; details are on our insurance page.

Benefits, honestly

Dental insurance coverage.

Clarity Dental is not in-network with any insurance plan, and you can still be seen here. Most PPO plans pay out-of-network benefits toward care, and we file those claims as a courtesy so you do not have to.

Check your benefits

Bring your plan information to any visit, or call ahead, and the team will explain what your plan is likely to cover before treatment is scheduled.

How insurance works here

Ask a question

Fluoride, demystified.

Is fluoride safe?
In professional doses, yes. Varnish uses a small, controlled amount applied right to the teeth, and decades of use support both safety and benefit. Have concerns? Bring them; you'll get a straight answer, not a brush-off.
Do adults really need fluoride?
Some do. Dry mouth, recession, frequent decay, and certain medications raise risk enough that fluoride earns its spot. If your risk is low, we'll tell you that you don't need it.
How long does it take?
About two minutes at the end of a cleaning. It's one of the quickest, easiest preventive steps out there.
Can fluoride fix a cavity?
It can help reverse the earliest stage of decay, before a true cavity forms. Once there's a hole, the tooth needs a filling. Timing is everything, which is why regular exams matter.
